Should I change my field to CS?

Not from CS? Wondering if you should move to Computer Science and Join the herd? If you aren't too pleased with your current subject or feel definitely that it does not have enough jobs, it would not be a bad idea to change your field to Computer Science. Computer Science jobs in the USA are abundant, infact all over the world. CS jobs are also high paying when compared to other fields of Engineering. But if you thought that IT professionals are paid such high salaries for nothing, then you are mistaken. Information Technology would open the doors for you provided you are ready to work hard. Competition in CS is higher than any other field. We personally think that Computer Science would still be one of the "hottest" professions atleast until our generation dies.

If you from a Non IT background and would love to explore your field, the you should forget what you read in the above paragraph and apply for a Master or Phd in your field. Even though the number of jobs are low in other fields of Engineering, you could still be a Billionaire if you can beat others in your field.

If you have little interest in CS, it wouldn't be a bad idea to explore CS and IT to become a multi-Faceted Engineer.
