When should I Start applying?
EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM, AND EATS IT TOO ??

Though people do say "The earlier the better", it isnt't true most of the time. Most Universities (the good ones) do not start reviewing the applications until the end of application date. But do not apply too late. Apply "asap" will be the word. It not advisable to apply too late, but do not stop considering applying to some university just because you are not the early one applying to a university. For below average universities, the universities review applications as soon as they get. If you are considering such universities, apply early.
Ideal time to start the application for a fall semester would be September the year before. Approach professors and apply early for part time jobs,RAs, TAs. But don't forget, your academic record fetches you your admission and not how early you apply !
Its is ideal to start the clog work in august this year, for application for the FALL semester next year. For spring it is ideal to start in December with the same equation as above.Checkout the application timeline provided.
Making and sticking to deadlines is very important. The right way , and the subsequently the least used , is to start researching universities quite some time before giving your GRE. If your GRE score is close to your expectations then you already have your list else aim higher/ lower depending on the score.
